Mathern is open Monday to Thursday, 8:00am–6:00pm. Fees shown below are the currently published 2026 rates.

Help with childcare costs

We accept Tax-Free Childcare, Flying Start, Early Education Funding and the Childcare Offer for Wales, subject to eligibility.

Tax-Free Childcare

For eligible families, the UK Government adds £2 for every £8 paid into a childcare account, up to the published annual limit.

Flying Start

Funded childcare may be available for eligible two-year-olds in qualifying areas. Eligibility and funded hours are confirmed locally.

Early Education Funding

Eligible children may receive up to 10 hours of funded early education during term time. Session patterns are set locally and need confirming with the nursery.

Childcare Offer for Wales

Eligible three- and four-year-olds can receive up to 30 hours a week of combined early education and childcare, for up to 48 weeks a year.

Food during funded sessions: £3.15 per meal and £0.90 per snack. One meal and one snack are charged per half-day session; two meals and two snacks per full day. Childcare hours not covered by funding are charged at £12 per hour.
